Gordon Ellis began his career with New York Life in 1969, almost by chance. At the encouragement of his wife, Lou, and with the help of a college friend, he interviewed for a position that would become the start of a lifelong career.

He founded Ellis Insurance & Financial Group on a simple philosophy: take care of people, earn their trust, and be there when they need you. Over the years, Gordon has helped families and business owners protect what they have built and plan for their financial futures. Many of those client relationships have grown into lasting friendships and now extend across multiple generations.

Gordon holds the Chartered Life Underwriter^® (CLU^®) and Chartered Financial Consultant^® (ChFC^®) designations and has received numerous professional honors throughout his career, including achieving Life and Qualifying Member status with the *Million Dollar Round Table and recognition by the Baton Rouge Association of Life Underwriters as Man of the Year.

Today, Gordon remains involved with the firm because, quite simply, he still loves the work and the people. He is quick to credit the team around him, whose support allows him to stay connected to his clients, while enjoying a little more time away from the office.

Gordon remains active at St. James Episcopal Church and with Sunrise Rotary Club, of which he is a founding member and later served as president.

The practice Gordon began in 1969 has grown into a multigenerational firm, with his son, Daryl, carrying forward the commitment to personal relationships, thoughtful guidance, and exceptional service. For Gordon, seeing those values continue through the next generation may be one of the most meaningful chapters of a remarkable career
